HALFSHAFT OIL SEAL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTION:New halfshaft oil seals should be installed anytime the halfshafts are removed. Failure to install new halfshaft seals may result in transaxle oil leak(s).
NOTE:RH intermediate shaft oil seal shown; LH halfshaft oil seal similar.










Removal

1. Remove the RH intermediate shaft or LH halfshaft. See Front Drive Halfshafts Removal/Installation or Intermediate Shaft Removal/Installation.





2. Using the special tools, remove the RH intermediate shaft oil seal or the LH halfshaft oil seal.

Installation





1. Using the special tool, install the halfshaft oil seal.

2. Install the RH intermediate shaft or LH halfshaft. See Intermediate Shaft Removal/Installation or Front Drive Halfshafts Removal/Installation.

CAUTION:Make sure to use the seal protector when installing the RH intermediate shaft and the LH halfshaft. Failure to use the seal protector may result in transaxle oil leaks.
