Oil Pump: Service and Repair

OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 3.0L

Removal

CAUTION:During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material (including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces) that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, may cause engine failure.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See Lifting.

2. Remove the timing drive components. See - Service and Repair.

3. Remove the oil pump screen and pickup tube. See - Service and Repair.





4. Remove the bolts in the sequence shown.

Installation





1. Position the oil pump and install the bolts.

- Tighten in the sequence shown to 10 Nm {1.0 kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}.

2. Install the oil pump screen and pickup tube. See - Service and Repair.

3. Install the timing drive components. See - Service and Repair.
