TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [R15MX-D]

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Drain the transmission and transfer oil into a container.

3.  Remove the front and rear propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the front pipe. (G6 engine) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [G6].)

5.  Remove the starter. (See STARTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [G6].) (See STARTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WLT-1, WLT-2, WL-3, WL-C, WE-C].)

6.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

8.  Add the specified type and amount of transmission and transfer oil. (See TRANSMISSION OIL REPLACEMENT [R15M-D, R15MX-D].) (See TRANSFER OIL REPLACEMENT [R15MX-D].)

9.  Warm up the engine and transmission, inspect for oil leakage, and verify the transmission operation.

•  Do not allow the transmission to fall from the transmission jack.

1.  Maintain the stability of the transmission and transfer while removing them.

Warning

•  A transmission that is not securely supported on a transmission jack is dangerous.It can slip or fall, causing serious injury.Never work without the transmission jack until crossmember installation is finished.

1.  Place the transmission and transfer on a transmission jack.

2.  Maintain the stability of the transmission and transfer while installing them.
