1) Connect the scan tool.
2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 1 minute or more.
3) Start the engine.
4) Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?
Yes
=>Go to Prioritized DTC check.
No
Go to Intermittent conditions of engine.

1) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is DTC P06A3 set at the same time?
Yes
Go to DTC P06A3 diagnosis.

No
=>Go to EGR gas pressure sensor signal voltage check.
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2) Disconnect the EGR gas pressure sensor harness connector (E102).
Refer to "RHD Engine Control (4JJ3 with DPD)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).
Refer to "LHD Engine Control (4JJ3 with DPD)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).
3) Turn ON the ignition switch.
4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is DTC P0472 set?
Yes
=>Go to EGR gas pressure sensor ground circuit inspection using test lamp.
No
=>Go to Inspection for short to power supply in EGR gas pressure sensor signal circuit.
1) Connect a test lamp between the EGR gas pressure sensor ground circuit (pin 1 of E102) and the battery power supply. Does the test lamp illuminate?

1) Inspect the EGR gas pressure sensor signal circuit between the ECM (pin 23 of E1) and the EGR gas pressure sensor (pin 2 of E102) for the following. Is the result normal?
