DTC B1E1C[62] Ignition2 Relay Response Signal Mismatch (Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System]))

1. Wireless access module system check

Refer to "71.Security and Locks Control 10S.Troubleshooting(Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System])) Diagnostic system check-Wireless Access Module (Hi-version[Passive Entry and Start System])".

2. Prioritized DTC check

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is DTC B1E1C[49] set at the same time?

Yes

Go to DTC B1E1C[49] diagnosis.

Refer to "71.Security and Locks Control 10S.Troubleshooting(Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System])) DTC B1E1C[49] Ignition2 Relay Internal Circuit Failure".

No

=>Go to IG2 relay inspection.

3. IG2 relay inspection

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Replace the IG2 relay with a known good relay.

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to IG2 feedback signal input check.

No

Replace the IG2 relay.

=>Go to Repair verification.

4. IG2 feedback signal input check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Remove the IG2 relay.

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Observe the Ignition Switch 2 Input parameter on the scan tool. Does the Ignition Switch 2 Input parameter show OFF?

Yes

=>Go to Inspection for open circuit in IG2 relay ground circuit.

No

=>Go to Inspection for short to power supply in IG2 feedback signal circuit.

5. Inspection for open circuit in IG2 relay ground circuit

1) Connect a fused jumper wire to the IG2 relay harness connector contact point side circuit (pin 1 of C1 and pin 6 of B4).

Refer to "RHD Power Door Locks (Wireless Access Module (Hi-version))" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

2) Observe the Ignition Switch 2 Input parameter on the scan tool. Does the Ignition Switch 2 Input parameter show ON?

Yes

Repair the open circuit or high resistance in the ground circuit between the IG2 relay (pin 12 of B4) and the body ground.

=>Go to Repair verification.

No

=>Go to Inspection for open circuit in IG2 relay circuit.

6. Inspection for short to power supply in IG2 feedback signal circuit

1) Inspect the signal circuit between the wireless access module (pin 21 of B14) and the IG2 relay (pin 6 of B4) for a short to the battery power supply circuit or a short to the ignition power supply circuit. Is the result normal?

Yes

=>Go to Wireless access module replacement.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

7. Inspection for open circuit in IG2 relay circuit

1) Inspect the JB MAIN 120A slow blow fuse. Is the result normal?

2) Inspect the power supply circuit between the JB MAIN 120A slow blow fuse and the IG2 relay (pin 1 of C1) for an open circuit or high resistance. Is the result normal?

3) Inspect the signal circuit between the wireless access module (pin 21 of B14) and the IG2 relay (pin 6 of B4) for an open circuit or high resistance. Is the result normal?

4) Are all of the results normal?

Yes

=>Go to Wireless access module harness connector inspection.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

8. Wireless access module harness connector inspection

1) Inspect for poor connections at the wireless access module harness connector (pin 21 of B14). Is the connection status normal?

Yes

=>Go to Wireless access module replacement.

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

9. Wireless access module replacement

Note

  • After replacing the wireless access module, programming must be performed.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
