Diagnostic system check-Wireless Access Module (Hi-version[Passive Entry and Start System]) (Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System]))

  • If there are no complaints on drivability, do not perform these diagnostic steps unless otherwise instructed in other sections.
  • Check for related Service Bulletins before starting the diagnosis.
  • Do not clear the DTC unless instructed to do so in a diagnostic step.
  • The battery should be fully charged.
  • The battery cable should be normal and securely connected.
  • The ground of the wireless access module should be securely connected to the correct position.
  • The wireless access module harness connector should be clean and correctly connected.
  • The wireless access module terminals should be clean and matched correctly.
  • The immobilizer security information should be programmed into the wireless access module and ECM correctly.

1. Scan tool power-up check

1) Connect the scan tool. Does the scan tool power up?

Yes

=>Go to Scan tool communication verification.

No

Go to Scan tool does not power up.

2. Scan tool communication verification

1) Any of the following is operated.

  • Press the engine start/stop button.
  • Press the request switch of the outside handle.
  • Open and close a door.

2) Verify that communication can be established with the wireless access module using the scan tool. Can communication with the wireless access module be established?

Yes

=>Go to Communication verification with each control unit.

No

Go to Lost communication with the Wireless Access Module(Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System]).

3. Communication verification with each control unit

1) Check the vehicle specifications and verify communication with other control units with the scan tool. Can communication with other control units be established?

Yes

=>Go to Power mode switching check.

No

Go to Scan tool does not communicate with CAN device.

4. Power mode switching check

1) Operate the engine start/stop button. Does the power mode switch to ACC or ON?

Yes

=>Go to Customer's concern check.

No

Go to The power mode does not change.

5. Customer's concern check

1) Check the customer's concern. Is the concern related to the following systems?

  • Engine
  • Body Control

Yes

Go to the applicable system inspection.

1) Crank the engine. Does the engine crank?

1) Start the engine. Does the engine start?

Yes

8. Symptom check

1) Operate the vehicle and check if the following symptoms are present. Is there any applicable symptom?

  • Doors do not lock even when operating the door request switch on.
  • Doors do not unlock even when operating the door request switch on.
  • Doors do not lock or unlock with electronic key button operation
  • Answer back buzzer (external buzzer) does not work
  • No electronic key warning buzzer (external buzzer) does not work
  • The power mode does not change
