1. DTC P0741 description
Lock-up control solenoid (SLU) and shift solenoid (SL) are installed on the valve body assembly and adjust the lock-up clutch oil pressure. The TCM controls lock-up control solenoid (SLU) and shift solenoid (SL) based on the engine speed, throttle opening position, turbine speed sensor signal, output speed sensor signal, etc. Lock-up control solenoid (SLU) performs the lock-up control and slip lock-up control by adjusting the lock-up clutch oil pressure. Shift solenoid (SL) is turned ON and OFF based on the command from the TCM, and thereby switches the oil path in the valve body to engage and disengage the lock-up clutch. If the TCM detects a lock-up OFF status even though lock-up clutch ON is commanded, the DTC is set.
2. Condition for setting DTC P0741
Condition for running the DTC
- The ignition switch is ON.
- The battery voltage is 9.0 to 16.0 V.
- The engine speed is 550 rpm or more and less than 4,000 rpm.
- The vehicle is running in the D range and the gear does not shift.
- The current gear position is 3rd or higher.
- The ATF temperature is -10°C {14°F} or more.
- Shift solenoid (SL) is ON.
- DTCs P0711, P0712, P0713, P0973, P0974, P2762, P2763, P2764, U0073, and U0100 are not set.

Condition for setting the DTC
- The TCM detects that the difference between the engine speed and the input speed is 100 rpm or more for 2 seconds or more while the lock-up control solenoid (SLU) is ON.
3. Action taken when DTC P0741 sets
- The TCM flashes the check trans warning light on the second driving cycle. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type B.
Refer to "55.Transmission Control 5A.Troubleshooting(AWR6B45) DTC type definitions".
- The TCM inhibits the self-learning control.
- The TCM inhibits the lock-up timing control.
- The TCM inhibits the slip lock-up control.
4. Condition for clearing DTC P0741
- Refer to Condition for clearing the MIL, check trans warning light/DTC - Type A or Type B.
