DTC P0030 Lambda Sensor Temperature Error (4JJ3 with DPD)

1. DTC P0030 description

The heated oxygen sensor is installed at the inlet of the DPD assembly and detects the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas. This sensor has a pump current circuit, reference voltage circuit, low reference circuit, and heater circuit. If the ECM detects the temperature of the heated oxygen sensor abnormally increases, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P0030

Condition for running the DTC

  • DTCs P0606 and P064D are not set.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) DTC P0606 ECM/PCM Processor".

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) DTC P064D Lambda Sensor Control IC Error".

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The ECM detects that the heated oxygen sensor temperature exceeds 900°C {1,652°F} for 5 seconds or more.

3. Action taken when DTC P0030 sets

  • The ECM illuminates the MIL. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type A.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) DTC type definitions".

  • The ECM inhibits the EGR control.
  • The ECM assumes a default heated oxygen sensor value.

4. Condition for clearing DTC P0030

  • Refer to Conditions for clearing the MIL/DTC - Type A or Type B.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) DTC type definitions".
