DTC B1109[81] Outside Air Temperature Sensor (CAN): Received Data Invalid (Auto A/C)

1. DTC B1109[81] description

The outside air temperature sensor is installed in the front end engine hood. The outside air temperature sensor is a variable resistor that measures the outside air temperature around the vehicle. The outside air temperature sensor is connected to the instrument panel cluster, and the temperature information from the outside air temperature sensor is sent to the auto A/C control unit via CAN communication.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1109[81]

Condition for running the DTC

  • DTC U0064[88] is not set.

Refer to "57.HVAC Control 7A.Troubleshooting(Auto A/C) DTC U0064[88] CAN Network: Bus-Off (CAN)".

Also, the following are met for 5 seconds or more:

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The ignition voltage is 10 V or more.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The automatic A/C control unit detects that the outside air temperature sensor temperature information received from the instrument panel cluster is abnormal.

3. Action taken when DTC B1109[81] sets

  • The auto A/C control unit sets the outside air temperature to the previous value or the default value (25°C {77°F}).
