DTC B1109[81] Outside Air Temperature Sensor (CAN): Received Data Invalid (Auto A/C)

1. Auto A/C control system check

Refer to "57.HVAC Control 7A.Troubleshooting(Auto A/C) diagnostic system check-auto A/C controls".

2. Outside air temperature sensor inspection

1) Inspect the outside air temperature sensor. Is the result normal?

Refer to "7.HVAC 7Z.HVAC Control outside air temperature sensor inspection".

Yes

=>Go to Outside air temperature sensor wire harness and connector inspection.

No

Replace the outside air temperature sensor.

Refer to "7.HVAC 7Z.HVAC Control outside air temperature sensor removal".

Refer to "7.HVAC 7Z.HVAC Control outside air temperature sensor installation".

=>Go to Repair verification.

3. Outside air temperature sensor wire harness and connector inspection

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Disconnect the instrument panel cluster harness connector (B7) and outside air temperature sensor harness connector (C36).

3) Inspect the wire harnesses and connectors for the following. Is the result normal?

Wire harness to be inspected

  • Between the instrument panel cluster (pin 32 of B7) and the outside air temperature sensor (pin 1 of C36)
  • Between the instrument panel cluster (pin 33 of B7) and the outside air temperature sensor (pin 2 of C36)

Inspection items

  • Continuity
  • Short to ground or short to other circuits
  • Terminal connection status

Refer to "LHD Combination Meter" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD Combination Meter" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Instrument panel cluster replacement.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

4. Instrument panel cluster replacement

Note

  • Perform programming after replacing the instrument panel cluster.

Procedure completion

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. Repair verification

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
