1) Connect the scan tool.
2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds or more.
3) Start the engine.
4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is DTC P0335 or P0336 set at the same time?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.
Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(RZ4E-TC) DTC P0335 (Flash Code 15) Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit".
No
=>Go to Engine speed verification.
1) Connect the scan tool.
2) Start the engine.
3) While raising the engine speed as necessary, observe the Engine Speed parameter on the scan tool. Is the Engine Speed parameter more than or equal to the specified value?
Value: 5,000 rpm
Yes
=>Go to CKP sensor and flywheel inspection.
No
Ask the driver if the overrun was caused by gear slip-out, shift error, down-slope driving, etc. If an engine overrun has occurred in the past, be sure to inspect the engine, and repair as necessary.
1) Inspect the CKP sensor and flywheel for the following. Is the result normal?
Yes
Replace the CKP sensor.
Refer to "1.Engine 1Z.Engine Electrical Control(RZ4E-TC) CKP sensor removal".
Refer to "1.Engine 1Z.Engine Electrical Control(RZ4E-TC) CKP sensor installation".
No
Repair or replace as necessary.
1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.
2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds or more.
3) Start the engine.
4) While observing the Engine Speed parameter on the scan tool, repeatedly depress the accelerator pedal from idle to full throttle. Is the Engine Speed parameter more than or equal to the specified value?
Value: 5,000 rpm
Yes
=>Go to CKP sensor and flywheel inspection.
No
Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
