DTC P0850[13] P/N Detection Circuit Open (Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System]))

1. Wireless access module system check

Refer to "71.Security and Locks Control 10S.Troubleshooting(Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System])) Diagnostic system check-Wireless Access Module (Hi-version[Passive Entry and Start System])".

2. Neutral switch signal input check

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Observe the Parking/Neutral Detection Switch Input parameter on the scan tool while operating the shift lever. Does the Parking/Neutral Detection Switch Input parameter show ON when the shift lever is operated to the N position, and OFF when operated to a position other than N?

Yes

Go to Intermittent conditions of wireless access module.

Refer to "229.Security and Locks Control 42D.Symptom intermittent conditions of wireless access module".

No

=>Go to Neutral switch signal input check using fused jumper wire.

3. Neutral switch signal input check using fused jumper wire

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Disconnect the neutral switch harness connector (E36).

3) Connect a fused jumper wire between the power supply circuit and the signal circuit of the neutral switch harness connector (pins 1 and 2 of E36).

4) Turn ON the ignition switch.

5) Observe the Parking/Neutral Detection Switch Input parameter on the scan tool. Does the Parking/Neutral Detection Switch Input parameter show ON when the fused jumper wire is connected, and OFF when disconnected?

Yes

=>Go to Neutral switch harness connector inspection.

No

=>Go to Inspection for open circuit and open circuit in neutral switch power supply circuit.

4. Inspection for open circuit and open circuit in neutral switch power supply circuit

1) Inspect the power supply circuit between the BACK UP(IG1) 7.5A fuse and the neutral switch (pin 1 of E36) for the following. Is the result normal?

  • Open circuit
  • High resistance
  • Short to ground

Yes

=>Go to Inspection for open circuit and short circuit in neutral switch signal circuit.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. Inspection for open circuit and short circuit in neutral switch signal circuit

1) Inspect the signal circuit between the wireless access module (pin 28 of B14) and the neutral switch (pin 2 of E36) for the following. Is the result normal?

  • Open circuit
  • High resistance
  • Short to ground

Yes

=>Go to Wireless access module harness connector inspection.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

6. Neutral switch harness connector inspection

1) Inspect for poor connections at the neutral switch harness connector (pins 1 and 2 of E36). Is the connection status normal?

Refer to "LHD Power Door Locks (Wireless Access Module (Hi-version))" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD Power Door Locks (Wireless Access Module (Hi-version))" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Neutral switch inspection..

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

7. Neutral switch inspection.

1) Inspect the installation status of the neutral switch. Is the result normal?

Yes

Replace the neutral switch.

=>Go to Repair verification.

No

Repair as necessary.

8. Wireless access module harness connector inspection

1) Inspect for poor connections at the wireless access module harness connector (pin 28 of B14). Is the connection status normal?

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

9. Wireless access module replacement

Note

  • After replacing the wireless access module, programming must be performed.
