Charge warning light always on (IBS (RZ4E-TC))

1. IBS system check

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(IBS (RZ4E-TC)) diagnostic system check-IBS".

2. Prioritized DTC check

1) Connect the scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds or more.

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

No

=>Go to Battery sensor inspection.

3. Battery sensor inspection

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Disconnect the battery sensor harness connector (C49).

Refer to "LHD Battery Sensor" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD Battery Sensor" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

3) Turn ON the ignition switch. Does the generator warning light illuminate?

Yes

Replace the instrument panel cluster.

Note

  • Perform programming after replacing the instrument panel cluster.

=>Go to Repair verification.

No

=>Go to Battery sensor replacement.

4. Battery sensor replacement

Refer to "1.Engine 1J.Electrical(RZ4E-TC) battery sensor removal".

Refer to "1.Engine 1J.Electrical(RZ4E-TC) battery sensor installation".

Procedure completion

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. Repair verification

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Confirm that the generator warning light turns ON.

3) Start the engine.

4) Check the generator warning light. Does the generator warning light turn OFF?

Yes

Go to Diagnostic system check-IBS.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(IBS (RZ4E-TC)) diagnostic system check-IBS".

No

=>Go to Prioritized DTC check.
