DTC B1053[A3] Battery Voltage Malfunction High (Air Bag (Driver/Passenger))

1. SRS system check

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger)) diagnostic system check-SRS controls".

2. Vehicle maintenance check

1) Ask the driver if the battery charger has been connected or jump starting has been performed recently. Has the battery charger been connected or has jump starting been performed?

Note

  • Jump starting and overcharging by the battery charger may cause the DTC to be set.

Yes

=>Go to Repair verification.

No

=>Go to Ignition voltage check.

3. Ignition voltage check

1) Observe the IG Voltage parameter on the scan tool. Is the IG Voltage parameter more than or equal to the specified value?

Value: 17.4 V

Yes

=>Go to Charging system inspection.

No

Go to Intermittent conditions of SRS control.

Refer to "209.Restraints 22D.Symptom Intermittent conditions of SRS control".

4. Charging system inspection

Refer to "1.Engine 1J.Electrical(4JJ3 without DPD) generator inspection".

Refer to "202.Engine 15C.Functional Inspection(4JJ3 without DPD) charging system check".

Refer to "1.Engine 1J.Electrical(RZ4E-TC) generator inspection".

Refer to "202.Engine 15C.Functional Inspection(RZ4E-TC) charging system check".

1) Inspect the charging system. Is the result normal?

Yes

=>Go to SRS control unit replacement.

No

Repair the charging system.

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. SRS control unit replacement

Note

  • Perform the VIN programming and ECU lock after replacing the SRS control unit.

Refer to "8.Restraints 8Z.Seat Belt and SRS Airbag Electrical Control SRS control unit removal".

Refer to "8.Restraints 8Z.Seat Belt and SRS Airbag Electrical Control SRS control unit installation".

Procedure completion

=>Go to Repair verification.

6. Repair verification

1) Reconnect all of the disconnected harness connectors.

2) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

3) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.

4) Turn ON the ignition switch.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
