Determination Procedure

Caution
•  When disconnecting the connector, verify that there is no looseness, damage, deformation, corrosion, or poor connection of the connector terminals.
•  When inspecting the connector, touch it with a paper clip or similar thin pin without directly inserting a tester probe into the terminal.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN GATEWAY UNIT (GWU) AND DLC-2
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the connector 3 which has gateway unit (GWU) terminals 3T and 3S.
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between DLC-2 terminal F and body ground
―  Between DLC-2 terminal E and body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between gateway unit (GWU) and DLC-2 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN GATEWAY UNIT (GWU) FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Disconnect the connector 4 which has gateway unit (GWU) terminals 4R and 4Q.
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between gateway unit (GWU) terminal 4R (wiring harness side) and body ground
―  Between gateway unit (GWU) terminal 4Q (wiring harness side) and body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the gateway unit (GWU) because there is a short to ground in the gateway unit (GWU).

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN GATEWAY UNIT (GWU) AND CONNECTOR C-17
•  Disconnect the connector C-17.
•  Connect the connector 3 which has gateway unit (GWU) terminals 3T and 3S.
•  Connect the connector 4 which has gateway unit (GWU) terminals 4R and 4Q.
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between DLC-2 terminal F and body ground
―  Between DLC-2 terminal E and body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the gateway unit (GWU) and connector C-17 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-17 AND CONNECTOR C-71
•  Disconnect the connector C-71.
•  Connect the connector C-17.
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between DLC-2 terminal F and body ground
―  Between DLC-2 terminal E and body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-17 and connector C-71 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN AUDIO AMPLIFIER AND CONNECTOR C-71
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between audio amplifier terminal 2N and body ground (with Bose® type audio)
―  Between audio amplifier terminal 2M and body ground (with Bose® type audio)
―  Between audio amplifier terminal 1Q and body ground (without Bose® type audio)
―  Between audio amplifier terminal 1S and body ground (without Bose® type audio)
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 7.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN AUDIO AMPLIFIER FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Disconnect the audio amplifier connector.
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between audio amplifier terminal 2N (wiring harness side) and body ground (with Bose® type audio)
―  Between audio amplifier terminal 2M (wiring harness side) and body ground (with Bose® type audio)
―  Between audio amplifier terminal 1Q (wiring harness side) and body ground (without Bose® type audio)
―  Between audio amplifier terminal 1S (wiring harness side) and body ground (without Bose® type audio)
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the audio amplifier and connector C-71 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
No
Replace the audio amplifier because there is a short to ground in the audio amplifier.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN 360° VIEW MONITOR CONTROL MODULE AND CONNECTOR C-71
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between 360° view monitor control module terminal 1C and body ground
―  Between 360° view monitor control module terminal 1A and body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 9.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN 360° VIEW MONITOR CONTROL MODULE FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Disconnect the 360° view monitor control module connector.
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between 360° view monitor control module terminal 1C (wiring harness side) and body ground
―  Between 360° view monitor control module terminal 1A (wiring harness side) and body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the 360° view monitor control module and connector C-71 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
No
Replace the 360° view monitor control module because there is a short to ground in the 360° view monitor control module.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) AND CONNECTOR C-13
•  Disconnect the connector C-13.
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between connectivity master unit (CMU) terminal 1Q and body ground
―  Between connectivity master unit (CMU) terminal 1O and body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-71 and connector C-13 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Disconnect the connectivity master unit (CMU) connector.
•  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals:
―  Between connectivity master unit (CMU) terminal 1Q (wiring harness side) and body ground
―  Between connectivity master unit (CMU) terminal 1O (wiring harness side) and body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the connectivity master unit (CMU) and connector C-13 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
No
Replace the connectivity master unit (CMU) because there is a short to ground in the connectivity master unit (CMU).
