Oil seal

Quantity: 1

Location of use: Coupling case

1. Drain the differential oil from the rear differential. (See DIFFERENTIAL OIL REPLACEMENT.)

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3. Remove the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4. Remove the coupling component. (See COUPLING COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5. Remove the oil seal from the coupling case using a flathead screwdriver.

6. Apply differential oil to the lip of a new oil seal.

7. Press fit the new oil seal into the coupling case using the SST.

Note

• Install the oil seal at a straight angle.

8. Install the coupling component. (See COUPLING COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

9. Install the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

10. Add the recommended differential oil to the rear differential. (See DIFFERENTIAL OIL REPLACEMENT.)
