FUEL-FILLER LID OPENER AND LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Fuel-filler Lid Opener

1.  Open the fuel-filler lid.

2.  To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

3.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Trunk side pocket (LH) (See TRUNK SIDE POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the cover.

5.  Remove the screw.

6.  Remove the fastener.

7.  Open the cargo net hook cover and remove the bolt.

8.  Remove the cargo net hooks.

9.  Peel back the seaming welt and weatherstrip.

10.  Move the trunk side trim (LH) in the order of arrows (1), (2), shown in the figure to detach the body panel from the hooks.

11.  Move the trunk side trim (LH) in the order of arrows (1), (2), (3), (4), and (5) shown in the figure while detaching the clips and hooks.

12.  Move the trunk side trim (LH) in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure, pull away the trunk side trim (LH) enough to secure a space for a hand to be inserted between body panel and trunk side trim (LH).

13.  Remove the nut.

14.  Remove the fastener, then partially peel back the trunk insulator.

15.  While pressing the tabs of the stopper bracket in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach it from the body.

16.  Detach all the stopper bracket tabs from the body and remove the stopper bracket.

17.  Remove the fuel-filler lid opener in the direction of the arrow.

18.  Disconnect the fuel-filler lid opener cable from the fuel-filler lid opener.

19.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Fuel-filler Lid Opener Lever

1.  While pulling the fuel-filler lid opener lever, insert a remover tool into the position shown in the figure.

2.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure and rotate it in the direction of arrow (1) to detach the fuel-filler lid opener lever from the driver’s side lower panel.

Caution

•  Be careful not to damage the fuel-filler lid opener lever with the flathead screwdriver.

3.  Disconnect the fuel-filler lid opener cable from the fuel-filler lid opener lever.

4.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
