Warning

•  Always wear gloves when using a utility knife. Using a utility knife with bare hands can cause injury.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the liftgate upper trim. (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the caps.

4.  Remove the nuts in the order of (1) and (2).

5.  Disconnect the high-mount brake light connector.

6.  Detach the wiring harness clip.

7.  Tie a string to the liftgate striker and the liftgate latch, and secure the liftgate with it half opened.

8.  Peel off the double-sided adhesive tape using a utility knife.

9.  Detach clips A and B using a remover tool.

Caution

•  Remove the rear spoiler using two people. Otherwise, it may fall off and be damaged.

10.  Lift the rear spoiler in the direction shown in the figure and remove it while detaching clips A and B.

11.  Remove the side spoiler. (See SIDE SPOILER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

12.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Rear Spoiler Installation Note.)
