Description

Rear power seat control module (LH) IG1 power supply circuit malfunction

Detection condition

•  Rear power seat control module (LH) detects an open circuit or short to ground in the IG1 power supply circuit with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).

Possible cause

•  IG1 power supply circuit malfunction (Related DTCs are stored in the start stop unit)

•  IG1 relay malfunction

•  Rear power seat control module (LH) connector or terminal malfunction

•  IG1 power supply circuit malfunction

―  Short to ground in wiring harness between C/U IG1 15 A fuse and rear power seat control module (LH) terminal 1G

―  C/U IG1 15 A fuse malfunction

―  Open circuit in wiring harness between IG1 relay terminal C and rear power seat control module (LH) terminal 1G

•  Rear power seat control module (LH) malfunction

VERIFY START STOP UNIT DTCs

•  Retrieve the start stop unit DTCs using the M-MDS.

•  Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No

Go to the next step.

INSPECT IG1 RELAY

•  Switch the ignition off.

•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
(See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

•  Remove the IG1 relay.
(See RELAY LOCATION.)

•  Inspect the IG1 relay.
(See RELAY INSPECTION.)

•  Is the part normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the IG1 relay, then go to Step 6.

INSPECT REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (LH) CONNECTOR CONDITION

•  Disconnect the rear power seat control module (LH) connector.

•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

•  Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 6.

INSPECT IG1 POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

•  Verify that the rear power seat control module (LH) connector is disconnected.

•  Install the IG1 relay.
(See RELAY LOCATION.)

•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
(See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

•  Measure the voltage at the rear power seat control module (LH) terminal 1G (wiring harness-side).

•  Is the voltage B+?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Inspect the C/U IG1 15 A fuse.

•  If the fuse is blown:

―  Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between C/U IG1 15 A fuse and rear power seat control module (LH) terminal 1G.

If there is a common connector:

•  Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.

•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

If there is no common connector:

•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.

•  Replace the fuse.

•  If the fuse is damaged:

―  Replace the fuse.

•  If the fuse is normal:

―  Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between IG1 relay terminal C and rear power seat control module (LH) terminal 1G.

If there is a common connector:

•  Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.

•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

If there is no common connector:

•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

Go to Step 6.

INSPECT REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (LH)

•  Inspect the rear power seat control module (LH).
(See REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (LH) INSPECTION.)

•  Is the part normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the second-row seat (LH), then go to the next step.

(See SECOND-ROW SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

•  Reconnect all the disconnected connectors with the negative battery terminal disconnected.

•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
(See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

•  Clear the DTC for the rear power seat control module (LH) using the M-MDS.
(See CLEARING DTC [REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (LH)].)

•  Retrieve the rear power seat control module (LH) DTCs using the M-MDS.
(See DTC INSPECTION [REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (LH)].)

•  Is the same Pending DTC present?

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.

•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the second-row seat (LH).
(See SECOND-ROW SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED

•  Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.

3	INSPECT REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (LH) CONNECTOR CONDITION • Disconnect the rear power seat control module (LH) connector. • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection. • Is the connector normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 6.
4	INSPECT IG1 POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT • Verify that the rear power seat control module (LH) connector is disconnected. • Install the IG1 relay. (See RELAY LOCATION.) • Connect the negative battery terminal. Yes	Go to the next step.

If there is no common connector: • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground. • Replace the fuse. • If the fuse is damaged: ― Replace the fuse. • If the fuse is normal: ― Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between IG1 relay terminal C and rear power seat control module (LH) terminal 1G. If there is a common connector: • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit. • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part. If there is no common connector: • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit. Go to Step 6.
5	INSPECT REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (LH) • Inspect the rear power seat control module (LH). (See REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (LH) INSPECTION.) • Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Replace the second-row seat (LH), then go to the next step. (See SECOND-ROW SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
6	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Reconnect all the disconnected connectors with the negative battery terminal disconnected. • Connect the negative battery terminal.
