TRANSAXLE OVERHEATS

DESCRIPTION
|
• Burnt smell emitted from transaxle.
• Smoke emitted from transaxle.
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• The malfunction is restricted to the hindrance of coolant at the oil cooler. In addition, overheating of the transaxle may be caused by a malfunction of the TFT sensor.

Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection results.

Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection results.

• Inspect the TFT sensor and related wiring harness: vibration, intermittent open/short circuit
• Is it normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace part if necessary.

• Inspect the line pressure control solenoid.
• Is it normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Inspect the coupler component.
• If normal, replace the control valve body.
|

• Inspect for bending, damage, corrosion or kinks of the oil cooler pipes.
• Are oil cooler pipes normal?
|
Yes
|
Overhaul the transaxle and repair or replace any malfunctioning parts.
