•  Measure the battery voltage.
•  Is the battery voltage 10.0—14.0 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace or recharge the battery.

•  Inspect the TCM related harnesses, connectors and fuses.
•  Are they normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  When the selector lever is moved, does the gear position indicator light indication correspond to the selector lever position?
•  Also, when other positions are selected from N or P during idling, does the vehicle move within 1—2s?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect TR switch (built in TCM) and the adjustment of selector cable and TR switch. Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.
If the selector cable and TR switch are normal, go to the next step.

•  Perform the road test.
•  Is the ATX operating normally?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

•  Perform the stall test.
•  Is the stall speed within the specified?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

•  Perform the time lag test.
•  Is the ATX operating normally?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

•  Perform the line pressure test.
•  Is the line pressure within the specified?
Yes
Perform the symptom troubleshooting and follow the procedures.
No
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

•  Inspect the ATF color and condition.
•  Are the ATF color and odor normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.
Flush the ATX and cooler line if necessary.

•  Inspect the value at the following PCM and TCM PIDs using the M-MDS.
PCM PIDs:
―  APP1
―  APP2
―  BOO
―  CHT
―  RPM
―  VPWR
TCM PIDs:
―  TSS
―  OSS
―  VSS
―  TFT
―  TFTV
―  TR
―  THOP
―  MNL SW
―  UP_SW
―  DWN_SW
•  Are the PID values normal?
Yes
Perform the symptom troubleshooting and follow the procedures.
No
Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.
