OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7]

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7].)

3.  Remove the ventilation hose. (See QUICK RELEASE CONNECTOR (EMISSION SYSTEM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7].)

4.  Disconnect the vacuum hose. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7].)

5.  Remove the resonance chamber. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7].)

6.  Remove the dynamic chamber and throttle body as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7].)

7.  Remove the master cylinder bracket (R.H.D.).

8.  Disconnect the wiring harness.

9.  Remove the ignition coils. (See IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7].)

10.  Remove the dipstick.

11.  Remove the engine hanger installation bolt, and power steering oil pump hose out of the way (R.H.D.). (See POWER STEERING OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [R.H.D.].)

12.  Remove the cylinder head cover. (See TIMING CHAIN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7].)

13.  Remove the OCV.

Note
•  The LH side is shown, however, the RH side is the same.

Tightening torque
8.5—11.5 N·m {87—117 kgf·cm, 76—101 in·lbf}

14.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
