Outline

System malfunction location	Body control module (BCM) configuration not implemented
Detection condition	•  The approaching vehicle audible system device received a signal which indicates the body control module (BCM) configuration is not performed.
Fail-safe	•  Approaching vehicle alert sound is generated at maximum volume
Possible cause	Note •  To correctly write the configuration data sent from the body control module (BCM) to the approaching vehicle audible system device, 30 s or more have to be elapsed since the main power is switched ON (READY off or on). •  Body control module (BCM) configuration is not completed. •  Body control module (BCM) malfunction •  Approaching vehicle audible system device malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	VERIFY ALL SYSTEM DTCs •  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) •  Switch the main power ON (READY off or on) and wait for 30 s or more. •  Perform a CMDTC self-test using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Are there any modules other than the approaching vehicle audible system device displaying DTC U2300:55?	Yes	Perform the body control module (BCM) configuration, then go to the next step. (See CONFIGURATION.)
		No	Go to repair completion verification 1.
2	VERIFY ALL SYSTEM DTCs AGAIN •  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) •  Switch the main power ON (READY off or on) and wait for 30 s or more. •  Perform a CMDTC self-test using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Are there any modules other than the approaching vehicle audible system device displaying DTC U2300:55?	Yes	Replace the body control module (BCM) and perform the repair completion verification. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
		No	Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 1	VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED •  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. •  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) •  Switch the main power ON (READY off or on) and wait for 30 s or more. •  Perform the DTC inspection for the approaching vehicle audible system device. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [L.H.D. (E)].) (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [R.H.D.].) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1. •  If the malfunction recurs, replace the approaching vehicle audible system device, then go to the next step. (See APPROACHING VEHICLE AUDIBLE SYSTEM (AVAS) DEVICE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
		No	Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2	VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED •  Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
