SPEAKER INSPECTION

Front Door Speaker

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Disconnect the front door speaker connector. (See FRONT DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Inspect the resistance between front door speaker terminals A and B.

Front door speaker resistance

Without Bose^® : 3.2—4.0 ohms

With Bose^® : 3.24—3.96 ohms

•  If not within the specification, replace the front door speaker. (See FRONT DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Rear Door Speaker

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Disconnect the rear door speaker connector. (See REAR DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Inspect the resistance between rear door speaker terminals A and B.

Rear door speaker resistance

Without Bose^® : 3.2—4.0 ohms

With Bose^® : 3.24 —3.96 ohms

•  If not within the specification, replace the rear door speaker. (See REAR DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Front Center Speaker (With Bose^®)

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Disconnect the front center speaker connector. (See FRONT CENTER SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Inspect the resistance between front center speaker terminals A and B.

Front center speaker resistance

3.24—3.96 ohms

•  If not within the specification, replace the front center speaker. (See FRONT CENTER SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Rear Speaker (With Bose^®)

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the rear speaker. (See REAR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Inspect the resistance between rear speaker terminals A and B.

•  If not within the specification, replace the rear speaker. (See REAR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Tweeter

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the tweeter. (See TWEETER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Inspect the resistance between positions A and B shown in the figure.

Tweeter resistance

Without Bose^® : 3.9—4.7 ohms

With Bose^® : 3.4 ohms

•  If not within the specification, replace the tweeter. (See TWEETER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Bass-box (With Bose^®)

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the bass-box. (See BASS-BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Inspect the resistance between bass-box terminals A and B.

Bass-box resistance

1.2 ohms

•  If not within the specification, replace the bass-box. (See BASS-BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Cowl Side Woofer

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the cowl side woofer.(See COWL SIDE WOOFER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

3.  Inspect the resistance between cowl side woofer terminals A and B.
