Outline
System malfunction location |
High voltage monitor: Correlation error (BECM and Drive motor control module) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Detection condition
• The PCM detects a difference between the voltage values measured by the BECM and the drive motor control module is the specified value or more.
Precondition
• The BECM and the drive motor control module are monitoring the voltage of the high voltage circuit.
Fail-safe
• Refer to "DTC Table" and "Fail-safe Function Malfunction Contents Table". (See DTC TABLE [PCM (e-SKYACTIV)].)
Possible cause
• PCM malfunction
• Drive motor control module malfunction
• High voltage battery malfunction
Diagnostic Procedure
Step |
Inspection |
Results |
Action |
---|---|---|---|
1
RECORD VEHICLE STATUS WHEN DTC WAS DETECTED TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION
• Record the snapshot data.
—
Go to the next step.
2
VERIFY BECM DTC
• Perform the DTC inspection for the BECM.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
3
DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION IS DRIVE MOTOR CONTROL MODULE.
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)
• Access the following PIDs using the M-MDS:
(See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)
Drive motor contorol module:
BECM
• Switch the main power to ON (READY on).
• When the HV_CONTACTOR display is ON, is there a difference of 50 V or more between the following PID voltage values?
Yes
Replace the inverter, then go to the repair completion verification 1.
No
Go to the next step.
4
VERIFY PCM DTC
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)
• Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure.
• Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
(See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
• Perform the DTC inspection.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
