Charge lid does not open

Description
•  The charge lid lock does not unlock even if the door lock is released.
•  The charge lid cannot be opened even if the charge lid lock is released using the transmitter.
Possible cause
Charge lid lock system operation malfunction:
•  Body control module (BCM) detects DTCs
―  Power door lock system malfunction detected
•  PCM detects DTCs
―  Charge port-electrical supply unit detects malfunction in charge lid lock actuator circuit
•  Charge port-electrical supply unit cannot receive charge lid lock release request from PCM
―  CAN communication error
•  Charge lid lock actuator malfunction
―  Lift pin is stuck
―  Charge lid lock actuator internal circuit malfunction

VERIFY PCM AND BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DTCs
•  Perform the DTC inspections for the following modules.
―  PCM
―  Body control module (BCM)
•  Is a charge lid lock actuator-related DTC or a power door lock system DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT LIFTER PIN IN CHARGE LID LOCK ACTUATOR FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Remove the charge lid lock actuator.
•  Insect the operation condition of the lifter pin.
•  Is the part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair verification procedure.

INSPECT CHARGE LID LOCK ACTUATOR FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Inspect the applicable part.
•  Is the part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?
Yes
Complete the symptom troubleshooting. (Explain repair contents to customer.)
No
Refer to the CAN (controller area network) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
