Purpose, Function

• Junction box No.3 distributes electrical power from the high voltage battery to the high voltage parts in the motor compartment.

Construction

• The junction box is installed at the top of the inverter.

• The junction box No.3 is connected with the following parts.

― High voltage battery (See HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY.)

― Inverter (See INVERTER.)

― Electric compressor (See ELECTRIC COMPRESSOR.)

― DC-DC converter (See DC-DC CONVERTER.)

• The high voltage circuit terminals can be accessed by removing the cover at the top of junction box No.3. When servicing, the terminal voltage can be measured after removing the service plug to verify that there is no electrical power in the circuit.

• The interlock switch is installed to the junction box No.3 cover. With this switch, the PCM can detect that the high voltage circuit is exposed. (See INTERLOCK SWITCH.)
