PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]

Warning
•  Handling the pressure sensor improperly may cause the air bag to activate (deploy) unexpectedly, which may cause an injury. Read the SRS air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the pressure sensor. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) Note
•  The SRS air bag system can be identified by whether or not the seat track position sensor is present.
―  Standard deployment control system: Without seat track position sensor
―  Two-step deployment control system: With seat track position sensor

1.  Switch the ignition OFF.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Inner garnish (See INNER GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Power window main switch (to remove from driver’s side) (See POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Power window subswitch (to remove from passenger’s side) (See POWER WINDOW SUBSWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Front door trim. (See FRONT DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Disconnect the connectors.

5.  Move the pressure sensor in the direction of arrow (2) while pressing the tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.

6.  Remove the pressure sensor.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

8.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

9.  Verify that the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light turns on for approx. 6 s and turns off.

•  If the air bag/pre-tensioner warning light does not work properly, verify the DTCs. (See DTC INSPECTION.)
