• Handling the SAS control module improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module and pre-tensioner seat belt, which may seriously injure you. Read the air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the SAS control module. (See
AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS.) (See
AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS.)
• Handling the SAS control module improperly can accidentally operate the active bonnet actuator, which may seriously injure you. Read the active bonnet service warnings and cautions before handling the SAS control module (with active bonnet). (See
ACTIVE BONNET SERVICE WARNINGS.) (See
ACTIVE BONNET SERVICE CAUTIONS.)
• If repairs are performed on a vehicle with a deployed active bonnet, always replace with the applicable parts no matter to what extent the external damage appears. If the parts indicated in the active bonnet service warnings in the section dealing with the active bonnet are not replaced when servicing the vehicle after the active bonnet has been deployed, the active bonnet may not function normally (with active bonnet). (See
ACTIVE BONNET SERVICE WARNINGS.)
• If the connector is connected and the ignition switch is turned to the ON position with the SAS control module not secured completely using the installation nuts, the SAS control module may detect a degree of impact even when something contacts it lightly, deploying the air bag module and pre-tensioner seat belt accidentally.
• If the DSC sensor initialization is not completed after removing/installing the SAS control module, the DSC will not operate normally which could lead to an unexpected accident. After the SAS control module is removing/installing, always perform the DSC sensor initialization to ensure proper DSC operation.
• If configuration is not performed when the SAS control module is replaced with a new one, the vehicle specification information is not stored in the SAS control module and the system will not operate normally.
