Malfunction Location

•  Door lock link switch circuit malfunction

Detection Condition

•  Lock/unlock signals are input simultaneously for 6 s or more

Possible Causes

•  Connection malfunction with connector
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between front door latch and lock actuator terminal J and BCM terminal 7K
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between front door latch and lock actuator terminal L and BCM terminal 7Q
•  Front door latch and lock actuator malfunction
•  Short circuit in lock signal and unlock signal wiring harnesses of front door latch and lock actuator
•  Open circuit between front door latch and lock actuator terminal D and body ground
•  BCM malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform locking and unlocking operation.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is DTC B1172:92 displayed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.

VERIFY FRONT DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the lock link switch connector.
•  Inspect the connection condition and wiring harness.
•  Are the connector terminals normal without damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to the final step.

VERIFY DOOR LOCK LINK SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT CONDITION
•  Inspect for continuity between front door latch and lock actuator terminal D and body ground.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the related wiring harness, then go to the final step.

VERIFY DOOR LOCK LINK SWITCH CONDITION
•  Remove the front door latch and lock actuator.
•  Inspect the door lock link switch.
•  Is the door lock link switch normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the front door latch and lock actuator, then go to the final step.

VERIFY BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the BCM connector.
•  Inspect the connection condition and wiring harness.
•  Are the connector terminals normal without damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to the final step.

VERIFY FOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN FRONT DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR AND BCM
•  Inspect for continuity between the following terminals and body ground.
―  BCM terminal 7K
―  BCM terminal 7Q
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the related wiring harness, then go to the final step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY FOR SHORT CIRCUIT IN LOCK AND UNLOCK SIGNAL WIRING HARNESSES
•  Inspect for continuity between BCM terminal 7K and BCM terminal 7Q, or front door latch and lock actuator terminal J and front door latch and lock actuator terminal L.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the related wiring harness, then go to the final step.
No
Go to the next step.
8
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Connect all the connectors.
•  Connect the battery cable.
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform locking and unlocking operation.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is DTC B1172:92 displayed?
Yes
Replace the BCM.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
