Detection Condition

• Short to ground in wiring harness between light switch and BCM

Possible Causes

• Connection malfunction with connector

• Short to ground in wiring harness between light switch terminal G and BCM terminal 6A

• Short to ground in wiring harness between light switch terminal I and BCM terminal 6B

• Light switch malfunction

• BCM malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION

•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
(See CLEARING DTC [BCM].)

•  Turn the turn switch on.

•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
(See DTC INSPECTION [BCM].)

•  Is DTC B1D36:92 displayed?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.

VERIFY LIGHT SWITCH CONNECTOR CONDITION

•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

•  Disconnect the light switch connector.

•  Inspect the connection condition and wiring harness.

•  Are the connector terminals normal without damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to the final step.

VERIFY LIGHT SWITCH CONDITION

•  Remove the light switch.
(See LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

•  Inspect the light switch.
(See LIGHT SWITCH INSPECTION.)

•  Is the light switch normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the light switch, then go to the final step.

(See LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

VERIFY BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION

•  Disconnect the BCM connector.

•  Inspect the connection condition and wiring harness.

•  Are the connector terminals normal without damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to the final step.

VERIFY WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN LIGHT SWITCH AND BCM FOR SHORT TO GROUND

•  Inspect for continuity between the following terminal and body ground.

―  BCM terminal 6A

―  BCM terminal 6B

•  Is there continuity?

Yes

Repair or replace the related wiring harness, then go to the final step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED

•  Connect all the connectors.

•  Connect the battery cable.

•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
(See CLEARING DTC [BCM].)

•  Turn the turn switch on.

•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
(See DTC INSPECTION [BCM].)

•  Is DTC B1D36:92 displayed?

Yes

Replace the BCM.

(See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.

2		No	Repair or replace the connector, then go to the final step.
3	VERIFY LIGHT SWITCH CONDITION • Remove the light switch. (See LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) • Inspect the light switch. (See LIGHT SWITCH INSPECTION.) • Is the light switch normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Replace the light switch, then go to the final step. (See LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4	VERIFY BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION • Disconnect the BCM connector. • Inspect the connection condition and wiring harness. • Are the connector terminals normal without damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Repair or replace the connector, then go to the final step.
5	VERIFY WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN LIGHT SWITCH AND BCM FOR SHORT TO GROUND • Inspect for continuity between the following terminal and body ground. ― BCM terminal 6A ― BCM terminal 6B • Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace the related wiring harness, then go to the final step.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED • Connect all the connectors. • Connect the battery cable. • Clear DTCs using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [BCM].) • Turn the turn switch on. • Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [BCM].) • Is DTC B1D36:92 displayed?	Yes	Replace the BCM. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
6		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
