DETECTION CONDITION
|
• The PCM monitors the wastegate valve position using wastegate valve actuator position sensor. If the open angle on the wastegate valve opening angle exceeds the threshold of the learning value, the PCM determines that there is a malfunction in the turbocharger.
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Wastegate valve actuator position sensor/wastegate valve actuator control solenoid valve connector or terminal malfunction
• Wastegate valve actuator control solenoid valve malfunction
• Wastegate valve actuator position sensor malfunction
• PCM malfunction

• Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No
|
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Verify related service repair information availability.
• Is any related repair information available?
|
Yes
|
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
• If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY RELATED PENDING CODE AND/OR DTC
• Switch the ignition to ON (engine off).
• Perform the Pending Trouble Code Access Procedure and DTC Reading Procedure.
• Is the other PENDING CODE/DTC also present?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [MZ-CD 1.6].)
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

|
PERFORM TURBOCHARGER LEARNED VALUES RESET
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Perform the TURBOCHARGER LEARNED VALUES RESET.
• Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition.
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Troubleshooting is completed.
Go to Step 12.
|

INSPECT WASTEGATE VALVE ACTUATOR POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION
• Switch the ignition to off.
• Disconnect the wastegate valve actuator position sensor connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace terminal, then go to Step 11.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT WASTEGATE VALVE ACTUATOR CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION
• Switch the ignition to off.
• Disconnect the wastegate valve actuator control solenoid valve connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?
|
Yes
|
Repair or replace terminal, then go to Step 11.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

VISUALLY INSPECT WASTEGATE VALVE ACTUATOR CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE
• The wastegate valve actuator control solenoid valve connector is disconnected.
• Visually inspect wastegate valve actuator control solenoid valve.
• Is there any obstacle (carbon deposit etc.) on wastegate valve actuator control solenoid valve?

Yes
|
Remove the obstacle, then go to Step 11.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
INSPECT THE WASTEGATE VALVE ACTUATOR CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE
• Inspect the wastegate valve actuator control solenoid valve.
• Is the wastegate valve actuator control solenoid valve normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the wastegate valve actuator control solenoid valve.
Then go to Step 11.

VISUALLY INSPECT TURBOCHARGER
• Remove the turbocharger.
• Visually inspect turbocharger.
• Is there any obstacle (carbon deposit etc.) on turbocharger?
|
Yes
|
Remove the obstacle, then go to Step 11.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

|
INSPECT THE TURBOCHARGER
• Inspect the turbocharger.
• Is the turbocharger normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the turbocharger.
Then go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY THAT DTC P132B:22, P132B:85 TROUBLESHOOTING IS COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition.
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the after repair procedure.
• Are any DTCs present?
|
Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [MZ-CD 1.6].)
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
