Intake shutter valve control system - low airflow detected

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors the intake shutter valve signal at engine speeds between 700 rpm and 4,000 rpm and engine torque between 5 N·m and 300 N·m. If the intake shutter valve is under the following condition, the PCM determines that low airflow is detected in the intake shutter valve control system.
―  Actually measured position deviates to negative side of target position.
―  Slow or fast learning drift
―  Actuator blockage
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Connector or terminal malfunction
•  Obstruction in intake shutter valve
•  Intake shutter valve malfunction
•  PCM malfunction

1
VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
•   Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related service repair information availability.
•  Is any related repair information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
•   If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED PENDING CODE AND/OR DTC
•  Switch the ignition to ON (engine off).
•  Perform the Pending Trouble Code Access Procedure and DTC Reading Procedure.
•  Is the other PENDING CODE/DTC also present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT INTAKE SHUTTER VALVE CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Disconnect the intake shutter valve connector.
•  Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace terminal, then go to Step 7.
No
Go to the next step.

VISUALLY INSPECT INTAKE SHUTTER VALVE
•  Disconnect the intake shutter valve connector.
•  Visually inspect the intake shutter valve.
•  Is there any obstruction (carbon deposit etc.) in intake shutter valve?
Yes
Remove the obstruction, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT THE INTAKE SHUTTER VALVE
•  Inspect the intake shutter valve.
•  Is the intake shutter valve normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the intake shutter valve.
Then go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT DTC P02ED:00, P02ED:68 TROUBLESHOOTING IS COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
•  Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
8
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
•  Perform the after repair procedure.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
