POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Coil antenna installation malfunction
•  Transponder (key) malfunction
•  If any of the following items are touching or near key head, signal communication between key and vehicle is negatively affected, resulting in engine not starting.

―  Keys for other vehicles equipped with an immobilizer system
―  Any metallic object
―  Any electronic device, or any credit or other card with magnetic strips
•  Coil antenna malfunction
•  Keyless control module malfunction

VERIFY COIL ANTENNA CORRECTLY INSTALLED
•  Verify the installation condition of the coil antenna.
•  Is the coil antenna correctly installed? (Is the connector not completely connected?)
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Install the coil antenna correctly, then go to the next step.

VERIFY WHETHER KEY IS VALID OR NOT
•  Are there any keys with which the engine can be started, other than the key that is a cause of the displayed DTC?
Yes
Go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS IN KEY OR COIL ANTENNA
•  Using the programmed key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Perform the immobilizer system DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the following DTC present?
―  Keyless control module: B10D7:81
―  PCM: P1260:00
Yes
Replace the coil antenna, then go to Step 5.
No
Dispose of the malfunctioning key.
Program a new key if necessary.
Go to Step 7.

VERIFY WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS IN KEY OR COIL ANTENNA
•  Using the programmed key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Perform the immobilizer system DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the following DTC present?
―  Keyless control module: B10D7:81
―  PCM: P1260:00
Yes
Replace the coil antenna, then go to the next step.
No
Dispose of the malfunctioning key.
Program a new key if necessary.
Go to Step 7.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTIONING PART IS KEYLESS CONTROL MODULE
•  Perform the immobilizer system DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the following DTC present?
―  Keyless control module: B10D7:81
―  PCM: P1260:00
Yes
Replace the keyless control module and program the immobilizer system-related parts.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 7.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Perform the immobilizer system DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the following DTC present?
―  Keyless control module: B10D7:81
―  PCM: P1260:00
Yes
Inspect the DTC P1260:00.
(See MZ-CD 1.6.)
No
Go to the next step.
7
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
