Fresh-air Duct

Purpose, function

•  Conducts fresh air inside/outside the engine compartment.

•  Adjusts the optimum intake air temperature appropriate for combustion by switching the passage of the intake air port.

Construction

•  The fresh-air duct is installed to the air cleaner.

Fresh-air Duct Valve

Purpose, function

•  The fresh-air duct valve conducts warm air in the engine compartment to quickly warm up the engine.

Construction

•  The fresh-air duct valve is built into the fresh-air duct.

Fresh-air Duct Valve Actuator

Purpose, function

•  For the fresh-air duct valve actuator, the optimum intake air temperature has been achieved by opening/closing the 2 fresh-air duct valves.

•  The fresh-air duct valve actuator is installed to the fresh-air duct.

Operation

•  The fresh-air duct valve actuator sends a signal which fluctuates according to the fresh-air duct valve opening angle to the PCM via LIN communication.

Resonance Chamber

Purpose, function

•  By adopting the hollowed area inside the intake air passage, pulsation of intake air is suppressed and intake air noise is reduced.

Construction

•  The resonance chamber is installed to the air hose.
