EXTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM [(E)]

id0918004005x2

Outline

•  Projector type headlights have been adopted to the front combination lights.
•  Auto light system has been adopted in which TNS (parking lights), headlight LO, and panel light automatically and optimally illuminate and turn off. (With auto light system)
•  A headlight auto leveling system has been adopted which automatically adjusts the headlight optical axis up and down.
•  A coming home light has been adopted which turns on the headlight LO for a specified time using the flash-to-pass operation.
•  Rear fog light has been adopted in the trunk lid light (4SD)/liftgate light (WGN). (With rear fog light)
•  A leaving home light has been adopted which turns on the TNS (parking lights) and headlight LO for a specified time by operating the unlock button on the remote transmitter.
•  Outer mirrors with built-in side turn lights have been adopted.
•  Secondary collision reduction hazard warning light has been adopted. (With secondary collision reduction hazard warning light)

Function

•  The BCM sends an exterior light on/off request signal based on the engine switch condition and light switch position signal, and turns the exterior lights on/off.

Lights off function

•  If the ignition is switched ACC or off with the time setting of auto light off system set to off ([0 seconds.] or [0 seconds]), the BCM automatically turns the lights off as follows:

Rear fog light switch position

Operation

Headlights LO, headlights HI, parking lights, front turn lights, front side marker lights

•  Refer to the [FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT] and [TURN LIGHT SYSTEM]. (See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT.) (See TURN LIGHT SYSTEM [(E)].)

Daytime running light (DRL)

•  Refer to the [DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT (DRL) SYSTEM]. (See DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT (DRL) SYSTEM.)

Rear fog light (with rear fog light)

•   Refer to the [TRUNK LID LIGHT (4SD)/LIFTGATE LIGHT (5HB)]. (See TRUNK LID LIGHT (4SD)/LIFTGATE LIGHT (5HB) [(E)].)

Side turn lights

•  Refer to the [SIDE TURN LIGHT] and [TURN LIGHT SYSTEM]. (See SIDE TURN LIGHT.) (See TURN LIGHT SYSTEM [(E)].)

Rear turn lights, brake lights, taillights (rear combination light), rear side marker lights

•  Refer to the [REAR COMBINATION LIGHT] and [TURN LIGHT SYSTEM]. (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT.) (See TURN LIGHT SYSTEM [(E)].)

Back-up lights, taillights (trunk lid light) (with taillights (trunk lid light))

•  Refer to the [TRUNK LID LIGHT]. (See TRUNK LID LIGHT (4SD)/LIFTGATE LIGHT (5HB) [(E)].)

Hazard warning lights

•  Refer to the [FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT], [SIDE TURN LIGHT], and [REAR COMBINATION LIGHT]. (See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT.) (See SIDE TURN LIGHT.) (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT.)
Secondary collision reduction hazard warning light (with secondary collision reduction hazard warning light)
1.  If the sophisticated airbag sensor (SAS) control module detects a collision with another vehicle, it outputs (1) a secondary collision reduction hazard warning light request signal to the BCM .
2.  The enter BCM flashes (2) the turn lights during a collision to caution surrounding vehicles when it detects a certain amount of impact.

―  While the secondary collision reduction hazard warning light is operating, all the turn lights are flashed automatically. The secondary collision reduction hazard warning light can be turned off by pressing the hazard warning switch two times.

High-mount brake light

•  Refer to the [HIGH-MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT]. (See HIGH-MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT.)
