Except MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)

1.  Remove the battery cover and battery duct. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF, L5].) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ZY, Z6].) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

2.   Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3.  Remove the aerodynamic under cover NO.2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Discharge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING.)

5.  Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [LF, L5].) (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [L3 Turbo].) (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [ZY, Z6].) (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZR-CD 2.2].)

6.  Remove the air cleaner. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF, L5].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ZY, Z6].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

7.  Remove the front bumper. (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Disconnect the radiator hose from the radiator.

9.  Remove the cooling fan component. (See COOLING FAN COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF, L5].) (See COOLING FAN COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].) (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ZY, Z6].) (See COOLING FAN COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

10.  Remove the radiator. (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF, L5].) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ZY, Z6].) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

11.  Disconnect the cooler hose (HI) and cooler pipe. Do not allow remaining compressor oil in the refrigerant line to spill. (See REFRIGERANT LINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Caution
•  If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise or other malfunction could occur. Always plug open fittings immediately after removing any refrigeration cycle parts.

12.  Remove the condenser, being careful not to allow remaining compressor oil in the condenser to spill. (See Condenser Installation Note.)
