DTC P0500 |
VSS circuit problem |
---|---|
DETECTION CONDITION
|
With ABS or DSC, Without ABS or DSC (MTX)
• The PCM monitors the vehicle speed signal. If the PCM does not receive the input vehicle speed signal, the PCM determines that there is a VSS circuit problem.
Without ABS or DSC (ATX)
• If the AT control part detects a speed sensor malfunction.
Diagnostic support note
• This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
• The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
• PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
• The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• PCM malfunction
• No configuration data in the PCM
• The PCM configuration error
• Connector or terminal malfunction
With ABS or DSC
• ABS HU/CM or DSC HU/CM malfunction
• Wheel‐speed sensor malfunction
Without ABS or DSC
• VSS malfunction
