CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH INSPECTION[L3 Turbo]

1.  Remove the battery cover (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[L3 Turbo].)

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3.  Remove the driver‐side air bag module. (SeeDRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Disconnect the cruise control switch connector. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Inspect for resistance and continuity between cruise control switch terminals A—G using a tester.

•  If not as specified, replace the cruise control switch. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Circuit Open/Short Inspection

1.  Disconnect the PCM connector. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[L3 Turbo].)

2.  Disconnect the cruise control switch connector. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Inspect the following wiring harnesses for an open or short circuit (continuity check).

Open circuit
•  If there is no continuity, the circuit is open. Repair or replace the wiring harness.
―  Cruise control switch terminal A and PCM terminal 1AQ
―  Cruise control switch terminal G and body ground
Short circuit
•  If there is continuity, the circuit is short. Repair or replace the wiring harness.
―  Cruise control switch terminal A and body ground
―  Cruise control switch terminal G and power supply
