DTC P115A:00

Low fuel level - forced limited power

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM records the fuel injection amount and receives the fuel level in the fuel tank from the instrument cluster via a CAN signal. If the fuel injector amount exceeds 570 g {20.1 oz}/stroke after receiving a signal from the instrument cluster that the remaining fuel level is low, the PCM determines that the fuel level is low.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  No fuel in tank
•  Fuel gauge (in instrument cluster) malfunction
•  Fuel gauge sender unit malfunction
•  Communication error between instrument cluster and PCM
•  PCM malfunction

Go to the next step.
No
If other DTC or PENDING CODE is stored:
•  Go to the applicable PENDING CODE or DTC inspection.
If any DTC is not stored:
•  DTC troubleshooting completed (the cause of this DTC is low fuel level).
―  Go to Step 6.
5
REINSPECT WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS LOW FUEL LEVEL OR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Refill the fuel till fuel level is above 5 L {5 US qt, 4 Imp qt}.
•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
•  Refill the fuel above 5 L {5 US qt, 4 Imp qt}.
•  Start the engine and warm it up completely.
•  Perform the DTC Reading Procedure.
•  Is the DTC P115A:00 present?

If other DTC or PENDING CODE is stored:
•  Go to the applicable PENDING CODE or DTC inspection.
If any DTC is not stored:
•  DTC troubleshooting completed (the cause of this DTC is low fuel level).
―  Go to the next step.
6
VERIFY THAT DTC P115A:00 TROUBLESHOOTING IS COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
