DESCRIPTION

Error signal from SAS control module

DETECTION CONDITION
•  Instrument cluster receives the illumination command signal from SAS control module continues for 20 s or more.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  SAS control module DTC is stored.
•  SAS control module malfunction
•  Instrument cluster malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

INSPECTION

CONFIRM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC
•  Perform the SAS control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE.)
No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTIONING PART IS SAS CONTROL MODULE
•  Clear the DTC from the instrument cluster using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 20 s or more.
•  Increase the engine speed more than 500 rpm.
•  Perform the instrument cluster DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the SAS control module, then go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 4.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC from the instrument cluster using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 20 s or more.
•  Increase the engine speed more than 500 rpm.
•  Perform the instrument cluster DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
4
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
