DESCRIPTION

Open circuit in GPS antenna circuit

DETECTION CONDITION
•  Multi information display detects open circuit in GPS antenna circuit for 5 s or more, while the ignition is ACC or ON.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  GPS antenna connector or terminals malfunction
•  Multi information display connector or terminals malfunction
•  GPS antenna feeder malfunction
•  GPS antenna malfunction
•  Multi information display malfunction

INSPECT GPS ANTENNA CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Disconnect the GPS antenna connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY CONNECTOR AND TERMINALS
•  Disconnect the multi information display connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT GPS ANTENNA FEEDER
•  Inspect the GPS antenna feeder.
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace the GPS antenna feeder, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTIONING PART IS GPS ANTENNA
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC from multi information display using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ACC and wait for 5 s or more.
•  Perform the multi information display DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the GPS antenna, then go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 6.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC from multi information display using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ACC and wait for 5 s or more.
•  Perform the multi information display DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the multi information display.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
6
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
