DTC P0234:00

Turbocharger overboost condition

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors the intake boost pressure using the boost sensor. If the difference between target intake boost pressure and actual intake boost pressure is above 30 kPa {0.31 kgf/cm2, 4.40 psi}, the PCM determines that the VBC system is over boost condition.
Diagnostic support note
•  The MIL does not illuminate.
•  FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2)/Snapshot data is not available.
•  The DTC is not stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Guide blade actuator position sensor malfunction
•  VBC solenoid valve malfunction
•  Guide blade actuator malfunction
•  Boost sensor malfunction
•  Turbocharger malfunction
•  PCM malfunction
