DESCRIPTION

On request from AFS control module or auto leveling control module

DETECTION CONDITION
•  Instrument cluster detects the illumination command signal from the AFS control module or auto leveling control module continues for 20 s or more.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  AFS control module or auto leveling control module malfunction
•  Instrument cluster malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

INSPECTION

ACTION

VERIFY HEADLIGHT AUTO LEVELING SYSTEM OR AFS DTCs
•  Verify the headlight auto leveling system or AFS DTCs.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFS CONTROL MODULE OR AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE MALFUNCTION
•  Clear the DTC from the instrument cluster using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 20 s or more.
•  Drive the vehicle with 500 rpm or more.
•  Verify the instrument cluster DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the AFS control module or auto leveling control module, then go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 4.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC from the instrument cluster using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 20 s or more.
•  Drive the vehicle with 500 rpm or more.
•  Verify the instrument cluster DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
4
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
