LIFTGATE LATCH POSITION SWITCH INSPECTION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the following parts:
- (1) Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
- (2) Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
- (3) Recess (See RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
- (4) Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
- (5) Liftgate latch and lock motor (See LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Press the latch in using a flathead screwdriver to inspect the latch lever condition.
4. Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.

• If not as indicated in the table, replace the liftgate latch and lock motor.
