CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FW6A-EL]

On-Vehicle Removal

1. Select the selector lever to P position.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
3. Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)].) (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)].)
4. Remove the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Clean the transaxle exterior throughout with a steam cleaner or cleaning solvents.
6. Remove the following parts as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)].)
7. Disconnect the control valve body connector.

8. Remove the hose clamp.

9. Drain the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT [FW6A-EL].)
10. Remove the oil pan.
11. Remove the oil strainer.

12. Remove the oil strainer O-rings.

13. Remove the control valve body.

14. Remove the oil seal (control valve body). (See OIL SEAL (CONTROL VALVE BODY) REPLACEMENT [FW6A-EL].)
15. Remove the gasket from the transaxle case.

On-Vehicle Installation
1. Install the gasket to the transaxle case.

2. Install the dowel pin to the control valve body.

3. Install the control valve body so that the parking assist lever component is engaged in the gap between the two surfaces of the spool part of the manual valve.

4. Move the manual valve in both directions of the arrow and verify that the manual valve is correctly connected to the parking assist lever component and the slider pin for the range sensor.

5. Install the new oil strainer O-rings.

6. Install the new oil strainer.

7. Apply a light coat of silicone sealant (TB1217E or equivalent) to the contact surfaces of the oil pan and transaxle case.

8. Install the oil pan with new bolts before the applied sealant starts to harden.

9. Install the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
10. Install the oil seal (control valve body). (See OIL SEAL (CONTROL VALVE BODY) REPLACEMENT [FW6A-EL].)
11. Install a new hose clamp to the position shown in the figure.

12. Connect the control valve body connector.

13. Add the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT [FW6A-EL].)
14. Install the following parts as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)].)
15. Install the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)].) (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)].)
16. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
17. Perform the “TCM configuration” (Control valve body replacement). (See TCM CONFIGURATION [FW6A-EL].)
18. Delete the U code and verify that no DTC is output. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC INSPECTION [TCM (FW6A-EL)].)
19. Perform the “Initial Learning” (Control valve body replacement). (See INITIAL LEARNING [FW6A-EL].)
20. Perform the “Mechanical System Test”. (See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST [FW6A-EL].)
21. Perform the “Road Test”. (See ROAD TEST [FW6A-EL].)
