Continuity Inspection

Note
•  The M position switch is built into the selector lever component.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  CD player (with CD player) (See CD PLAYER REMOVAL.) (See CD PLAYER INSTALLATION.)
(3)  DVD/CD player (with DVD/CD player) (See DVD/CD PLAYER REMOVAL.) (See DVD/CD PLAYER INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Selector lever knob (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Disconnect the selector lever component connector.

4.  Verify that the continuity between selector lever component terminals E and J.

•  If not as verified, replace the selector lever component. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

M position switch specification
