Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	INSPECT MICROPHONE CONNECTOR CONDITION • Switch the ignition off. • Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.) • Disconnect the microphone connector. • Inspect the connector for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion). • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the connector or terminal, then go to Step 5.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT Bluetooth^® UNIT CONNECTOR CONDITION • Disconnect the Bluetooth^® unit connector. • Inspect the connector for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion). • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the connector or terminal, then go to Step 5.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT MICROPHONE POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND • Verify that the microphone and Bluetooth^® unit connectors are disconnected. • Inspect for continuity between microphone terminal C (wiring harness-side) and body ground. • Is there continuity?	Yes	Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between Bluetooth^® unit terminal C and microphone terminal C. If there is a common connector: • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground. • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part. If there is no common connector: • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground. Go to Step 5.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS MICROPHONE DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY • Always reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.) • Clear the Bluetooth^® unit DTCs. (See CLEARING DTC [AUDIO UNIT].) • Perform the Bluetooth^® unit DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION [AUDIO UNIT].) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Replace the microphone, then go to the next step. (See MICROPHONE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4		No	Go to Step 6.
5	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Always reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.) • Clear the Bluetooth^® unit DTCs. (See CLEARING DTC [AUDIO UNIT].) • Perform the Bluetooth^® unit DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION [AUDIO UNIT].) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. • If the malfunction recurs, replace the Bluetooth^® unit. (See Bluetooth® UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) Go to the next step.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED • Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [AUDIO UNIT].)
6		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
