BALANCE SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Trunk side pocket (See TRUNK SIDE POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Set the trunk side trim aside. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Insert a crescent wrench in the position shown in the figure.

4.  Move a crescent wrench in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure, remove the balance spring from the trunk lid hinge.

5.  Remove the LH side balance spring shown in the figure from the hooks.

6.  Remove the RH side balance spring shown in the figure from the hooks.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
