VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CD INSERTION DIRECTION
• Verify the CD insertion direction when the malfunction occurred.
• Is the CD inserted with the printed label pointed up?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No
|
Explain to the customer the cautionary notes in the owner's manual (insert CD with printed label side pointed up).

VERIFY CD CONDITION
• Verify the disc condition.
• Is there any dirt and damage on the disc?

Yes
|
Remove dirt on the disc or replace with an undamaged disc.

No
|
Go to the next step.

DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS DISC
• Replace the CD with one not used when the malfunction occurred.
• Is playback possible?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the car-navigation unit.

VERIFY IF DATA TYPE OTHER THAN CDDA/MP3/WMA IS MIXED IN DISC
• Verify the data content in the disc.
• Is there data other than CDDA/MP3/WMA data mixed in?

Yes
|
Replace with a disc containing only CDDA/MP3/WMA data and verify the malfunction symptom.
If the malfunction symptom is eliminated
• System is normal (explain to the customer that the cause was a disc containing data other than CDDA/MP3/WMA).
If the malfunction symptom is not eliminated
• Replace the car-navigation unit.
